Williams McEnery accepts one articling student per year to become a member of our firm in every sense of the word. Unlike large law firms, we encourage students to partake in all areas of our law practice. Our students are responsible for their own files as well as in assisting other lawyers in preparing and presenting theirs. This includes interviewing witnesses, attending and assisting in examinations for discovery, motions, trials and submissions to Judges.
Successful candidates are self-motivated and willing to learn and grow their advocacy and legal skills. Students are responsible to the clients and to the firm and are expected to perform their tasks to the best of their ability.
Williams McEnery’s articling program is designed in such a manner that by the completion of the student’s articles, he or she will have acquired all of the skills necessary to enable him or her to pursue the practice of law.
