Williams McEnery Supports Local Courthouse Food Drive

Members of our firm recently volunteered at the Annual Courthouse Food Drive organized by the County of Carleton Law Association.  Kris Dixon, Ashlee Barber and Kelly Hart helped collect donations of cash and food for The Ottawa Food Bank.

Through the donations of law firms, court staff and the general public, over $11,000 in cash donations as well as numerous boxes of food were collected during the one week affair.  Since every $1 donated to The Ottawa Food Bank generates $5 worth of food in the community, these donations equal $55,000 worth of food for local food bank agencies.

  • The Ottawa Food Bank provides 43,000 people each month with critical food assistance, 37% of whom are children.
  • The Ottawa Food Bank supports 140 food programs throughout the Ottawa Region.
  • 14 tons of food leaves the Food Bank warehouse each and every working day.
